HUBLOT Monza F1 Watch; The world's first red tinted Sapphire Cyrstal
Taken from the f1.com Offical Web Page:
Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot, the Official Watchmaker of Formula 1™, has chosen the historical venue of Monza to unveil the latest in its series of official Formula 1 watches. The King Power Formula 1™ Monza, inspired by the fastest circuit on the F1 calendar and limited to 200 pieces, combines distinguished design with pioneering use of hi-tech materials. It features a world first in its use of red tinted sapphire crystal, the colour incorporated into the translucent material to give the watch a unique and unprecedented brightness. Red tones dominate the chronograph’s decoration: indices, hands, the stitching on the strap and the FORMULA 1 MONZA inscription on the bezel all give a nod to Italy’s favourite and most famous motor racing colour. To add to the depth of this unique timepiece, the dial is skilfully covered with a crystal layer on which the hour markers and the iridescent Formula 1 logo are applied, giving the illusion they float weightlessly within the case. Formula One-inspired materials are used throughout the construction of the watch, including its micro-blasted black ceramic bezel, a PVD titanium crown and the black rubber and Nomex strap. The King Power Formula 1™ Monza, the latest in Hublot’s series of Formula 1 watches, was officially presented in the Monza paddock in the presence of Formula One Group CEO Bernie Ecclestone, Enrico Ferrari, Director of the Autodromo di Monza, Hublot Managing Director Ricardo Guadalupe and Hublot marketing director Valerie Servageon Grande. It follows the phenomenal success of the F1 King Power which was launched shortly after Hublot’s appointment as Formula One’s official watchmaker earlier in the season at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
