help!! new gmt ii c crown broken?

hello this is my first post. I just bought my first Rolex, a new ss gmt master ii ceramic from my AD three weeks ago. and i love it. Yesterday i tried to wind the watch using the crown and it dos not make the winding clicking sound that it normally does. Is this because its fully wound or is there a real problem. I know the watch is under warranty but i don't like the idea of having to send it in so soon. Has anyone else had or herd of this thanks.

Give it a wiggle in and out as it may have not engaged the gears properly...
See if that helps.....

push the crown all the way back in, then light pull the crown back out. My guess is that the crown did not come out all the way.

OK i tried pulling it in and out a bunch of times still no luck. So i assume there is a problem. Should i send it in for service or try to have the whole watch replaced because its only three weeks old.

See what they say first....

Are you sure you pulled it out to the 1st position? Just unscrew the crown and let it pop out on its own, do not pull it out any further and try winding it.

That was my first thought as well!!
Sometimes when you release from the threads, the crown will not pop out to the 1st position...It gets hungup so to speak.Although with a little back and forth on the crown it will always go into position...The OP said he has tried this and still no luck!?!?

It will have to be looked at and possibly sent out to be corrected,if the AD you purchased from doesn't have an inhouse tech..
Good luck...

Sounds to me like you were trying to wind a fully wound watch and were hearing (feeling) the clutch slip. My EXP-II has a 3185 movement that does this.

Maybe set it down / let it wind down all the way. Then, try again from the beginning?

Do you use a watch winder? I had a similar problem with an Omega Co-Axil watch.

This sounds like the best idea yet. Let it unwind on it's own and stop, then try to wind it. After winding it 40-45 turns, set it back down again and see how long it runs. Don't wear it so that the rotor doesn't wind it. This might take 3 or 4 days, but will save you from having to be at the mercy of the AD!

Why wind it if its a daily wearer, I've had my Rolex for nearly 6 months and it was wound once in the shop when I got it. Hasn't stopped yet.

Just bring it in to your AD or call one of the Rolex Service Centers (RSC).

Because it's a new watch and he thinks it's broken.

The crown may not have popped into position. Let the dealer have a look at it. Winding can be a little tricky if you are not familiar with manual winding.

I had this problem on a recently serviced old DJ, the RSC said sometimes the oils take a little while to bed in. Pushing the crown in and out a bit until it engaged worked sporadically but lately it seems to just work consistently with no fiddling..

Yes I would agree like others have said take it of wrist if it runs for anything over 36 hours before it stops its fine. Then give it full wind around 40 full crown turns clockwise. If watch then runs and keeps good time you do not have a problem its that simple.
