Daytona - to buy or not?

Got a call tonight from my AD, steel white face Daytona available at 7% off the new list price. Do you think this is a good deal, considering more & more are showing up at ADs displays?

They sell here on the Forum for between 9500 & 10000.

How does that compare?

Hello Jay,
If you're not paying sales tax that is a good deal
The new retail is $10400 and at 7% that will place you at $9672 and that is good as long as no sales tax...
If you were to pay sales tax you can check here on TRF and you can do better

If you want a BNIB get it--if not--look on TRF and save the money buying used!

No tax on that price would be a great deal and I would not hesitate to buy it.

I think this thread pretty much rubber stamps where the market for the Steel Daytona has ended up..

Which is good as I want one.

Without sales tax that would be a great deal IMO; otherwise you can find some beauties listed here in the sales sections

I just got offered one at the old price, so basically 5% off (but then one have to pay taxes/pick up locally) for a black dial one (rarer).

I think the race is over one this watch to some extent. Sure, it is still a iconic watch but $10K is still a boatload of cash (for most people).

At the end, you should buy the watch because it sings to you and will make your life journey a happier/better one, not because it is a coveted watch, that other people think you should buy it or because the deal is fair.

Good luck with your decision.

If it sings to you jump on it, if just so so then you can look on the boards. I love that watch and that dial, so for me when they called I answered.

Today the AD sweetened the deal by 9% off and no tax, don't know what's goin' on ?? Looks the state of the economy is dictating the price of the so called collectibles!

Don't want to push him too much on this one 'cause I don't know if he'll go any lower
