Icon20 I FINALLY GOT IT!! (Green Sub C)

Hola amigos!! hello friends!!

I finally got it two days ago!
I have made a deposit a month ago, and I finally got the required $$ to reach the balance, and finally got my new Submariner Green Ceramic.

This is truly a nicely finished watch, a modern rendering of a classic design.
I expect to write a little report of my personal feelings and point of view, in a near future, after wearing this new watch a bit.

In the meantime, I took these first quick pictures, before even taking off the clear plastic stickers.
The watch looks bigger, and feels bigger, than the classic 1680 Iīm used to, but taking some quick measures, I find that the height is the same, and distance between lugs is same, though it looks as it had a bigger span.
Then, the thicker lugs, and thicker crown protections, make for the visual "bigness" of this watch, when compared to the old model.

I find the green color of dial and bezel awesome, and most difficult to get the true hue in my pictures, but at this time, most of TRF members have seen this new model on their own hands (or wrists!).

The Sub ceramic arrived to my Country a little more than a month ago, as I posted previously. First the black model, and later, the green one, about a month ago. So it is a Big news in watch circles here.

I like the watch, but if you give me only one option, I would opt for the old model without thinking twice. Sorry, just a personal thought, in this moment.
May be I change my mind with a little use of this watch.

Anyway, it is a great time piece, worth the name of this beloved brand: ROLEX!
Hope you enjoy the pictures,
Very cordially, Abel.

Very cordially, Abel.

I've been working with an a few Argentineans for 12 years. They are from Rosario, Mendoza and Buenos Aires.

I've learned plenty of slang and mannerisms from them.

Pollo al disco has become the only way I eat chicken and I have learned how to make a true parillada (outside of being in Argentina).

The morsilla from Argentina is the best.

In a way, i would almost like to flip my GMTIIC but I know
I would miss it. I have not seen the green dial
in the flesh yet. I just wonder how comfortable I
would be wearing a green dial all the time. I'm used to
the the classic black dial.

hello Ingoodtime!
I had the same concern, having used a 1680 for some 30 years almost daily.
Green is rather gaudy, but I wished to have it for a change.
Itīs a bit modern and flashy, but like the color Rolex found for this Sub.
Just take a loo on your own wrist at your local AD, to have a good idea, as the green is very difficult to catch in pictures. It changes all the time, as the light plays with the dial surface!
Kind regards, Abel.

absolutely stunning!

I went for the Sub C eventually tho. cos I cant see myself using this color as an everyday watch.

It would be great if I had more watches so that I could use this in rotation.
