Laser Coronet on 1999 Sub?
Question...
I have a 1999-2000 Sub I bought new... Took a spill last year on my motorcycle with it and after a LONG while got it repaired by RSC NYC. I noticed that I have a laser etched coronet (no "S" in it) on my replaced crystal. I never thought I had one before as I had an older watch so I never looked. So did they "upgrade" my crystal or did I have one and never knew it? Thanks, Chris BTW the watch looks perfect after the repairs!!!!!!!! Go RSC NY! |

More than likely you never had the LEC, you probably would have noticed it! Glad to hear that your watch turned out OK.

I think that 99/2000 is a little early for an original equipment laser etched crystal..
If you had a scratched or chipped crystal when you got it repaired it would likely have been replaced then.. Service replacements have the S also, but the S is not 100% all the time..

I had thought they came out 2005ish with that so I never thought to look.
I am however surprised they would put a later etched crystal on an older watch as Rolex is all about all "original". My crystal was badly scratched. I added a few pics... It came back PERFECT! Sadly I never thought to have my watch re-lumed at the time, grrrr.... |

Neither does flesh... lol...
Wore a Seiko Monster for the time until the watch was repaired. My home owners took care of the repairs on the watch. I did have it insured (Thankfully!!) I was a little banged up. Shoulder took a while to feel right... Thankfully it was low speed... |

The Toronto RSC put an etched crystal on my N serial 1993 Sub when it went there 3 years or so ago for an overhaul. In wonder if maybe all their replacement crystals have the coronet etched in?
