DJ as an "only" watch??

I am still considering flipping my Sub C for a DJ. I am leaning towards the 36 mm, silver stick dial on super-jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel. I might consider the DJII also - not sure.

One thing I do like about Subs in general is that they are so multi-purpose. Do you think the DJ could also serve as an "only watch"?

I am in dressy clothes in the week but am usually much more casual on the weekends (jeans and tshirt).

Thoughts? Any opinions very welcome! Thanks...

A DJ can dress up or down. You can put it on a strap or a bracelet. There are several threads showing the variations. Personally, I think you can't go wrong with a DJ (but I'm a bit biased )

Too totally different watches for sure. The DJ certainly is a bit more dressier. I find the super-jubilee bracelet to be extremely comfortable and good looking.

In the end, you gotta go with what you like.

DJ is a classic design, and very elegant watch, and a nice candidate for an "only one" watch. It can be dressed up with a good crocodile strap, or a Jubilee.
I´d opt for a gold bezel to add a bit of bling, without loosing the sporty look.
I love DJ!
Kind regards, Abel.

My TT DJ with fluted bezel and Oyster braclet (Oh, the horror!) works for me as an everyday watch. Wear what you like, and enjoy.

The DJ is a great everyday piece and can be dressed up or down IMO. Should be fine as a 'one and only'.

I would keep the sub as an everyday watch.

For the vast majority of people, I believe that any Oyster can serve as an only watch.

For those who engage in specialized activities, there may be a necessity for two.

My Explorer was my first and I wore it for everything after I realized that it's the most robust and certainly one of the best looking watches I have and that it could be both a beater and a dressy watch.

I think my DJ could do the same thing, even thought the Explorer is my designated beater, but really I don't own two Oysters because I have to, but because I want to.

I bought my DJ2 as my "only" Rolex since it has the date on it and that's all I need. However, now I'm eyeing the subs as an addition in the future.

I recall seeing a Rolex ad that featured the legendary Red Adair who wore his DJ everyday, including the days he was putting out oil well fires. so, wear it all the time.

It's a great everyday watch, bought one this spring, my first Rolex after a many year layoff. BUT, for it to be your ONLY watch you must NEVER EVER EVER log onto this website again. Wanna see my sub? And, in a few weeks, my tudor Heritage??

I highly doubt it will be my "only" for the long-term - I am completing my law degree and funds are non-existent until I begin working full time in Sept.

The DJ is an anytime, anywhere watch, especially with the silver stick dial. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely. I have found this watch to be so much more versatile than I thought it would be when I bought it. You can never go wrong with a classic Datejust...

Right now my DJ is my only Rolex - I have other sporty watches but have not worn ANY of them since acquiring my DJ :)

I work in a casual creative environment and it never looks to dressy there and when I throw some nice clothes on it fits right in!

I could seriously live with the DJII if it were available in SS with a smooth bezel. So far, no luck. I could easily see it as an everyday watch.

I thinks Subs are more versatile. They can go with jeans or a Tux...I was wearing my Sub last weekend as I was harvesting my vineyard. I don't how I'd feel about being out there with a DJ. It was just at home at the 'harvest dinner gala' we went to later that night.

The DJ 36mm is too small, for me anyway,as nice as it is. The DJ II would suite me fine as a one watch though, preferably a TT.
