Seiko Black Monster
Yeah! I finally received my Seiko BM - Hd a few questions for other owners.
Has anyone removed links from the bracelet? I'm need to remove 2 or 3. Also, how does the divers extension release? I think I see how, but don't want to bend something if I am wrong...lol. Thx in advance. |

Thx! Here is a great link for removing the collars and pins for the links. I had to remove 3. With the right tools (a safety pin, a large paperclip and two needle nose pliers) it was a snap. http://www.pmwf.com/Watches/WatchToo...TER%20bracelet Info on the extension still much appreciated! |

Saw the thread on the Seiko BM. Read the website on the stripdown. Found one on the Amazon link. It is on its way. US148 - what a steal. Please don't do this to me again.

Congrats. Brendan! Glad you got it. I can't comment on the bracelet and how it works - I've got the rubber strap on mine, but I can't wait to see photos of your new baby! Wear in the best of health, my Rootbeer brutha!!!

Great watches for the money Seiko but sometimes bracelets can be quite tricky to adjust

Here are some pix (I was taking some pix of the Casio Sea Pathfinder for another thread so thought I would take them together).
Yes, the bracelet pin system could be improved. I found it easier to push the link pin out by hand with my rolex bracelet adjuster and push the pin and split barrel back in using a larger pin on the barrel side as suggested. If you use a pin remover and catch the edge of the split barrel you could damage it. I think the band pin system will be hard to keep clean and free from grease and dirt - time will tell. |

The Seiko monster with 7S26 movement, must be the divers watch bargain of the century, one great and very tough watch.
Great article about the 7s26 movement, quite old now but still a good read. http://www.thepurists.com/watch/features/8ohms/7s26/

It is a bit bulky and sits nicely on the wrist. You get used to it very fast and it becomes very enjoyable. The crown at the 4 position is an added bonus also

Hey eveyone with a BM now, how accurate is your watch? I had read that one could expect 10-15 secs fast per day without regulation. However, during the time I wore it, it showed to be only 3 seconds fast per day. Once i took it off and let its power reserve start to run down, then it seemed to speedup, but with a full reserve and wearing it, onlt 3 secs off. That seems great to me! |

Mine runs a bit fast, probably in the neighborhood of your results, Brendan. I have not had it adjusted yet (too lazy), but will in the future. The accuracy is tolerable for now. Love da Monster!!!
