Submariner U Serial Question

Guys....

How much would you guys consider a good price for a used Sub U Serial T25?

The watch has no box, no papers. Watch only.

It seems to be at about 80-90% condition.

Thanks!

Any other thoughts? I'm the one considering to buy it. I wanna know what's a good price to buy such a watch with no box and no papers.

Could you describe the 80-90% condition?

Bracelet, all links, sag, scratches. Condition of head. Service history.

Pictures would help!

Well a genuine watch is far more important than any box or papers. The papers are only of any real use in the warranty period as for the box its just a box.As this watch is from around 1997/8 if no service history the a full service should be a priority, then you will have service papers from Rolex with a two year warranty.Picture looks good has been looked after would rate it 90 plus but thought you said no box.?????.

Hard to tell in your pics. Do you have any close ups of the dial / case sides?? Are the lugs over polished?

To me 80% means its pretty beat up. I would think < $3300 USD

Do you know the service history? Losing time? The watch looks great in the pics. Take into account $300-500 for a service. IMO, low to mid $3Ks.

yup, no box. I think that is not the original box.

I guess low 3k would be a fairly descent price. I just hope that it has been checked and serviced since it's a 1997/8 watch.

Thanks everybody, more opinions would be more than welcome!

When in doubt, factor in an RSC service in the price you're willing to pay.

Good luck!

Yea, I'll have to factor it out for sure. The seller just said that it was serviced 2.5 years ago for a full cleaning. and He's offering it @ 3,200USD.

Any Thoughts?

Plus: The seller insists it's a T25. I wonder if it's worth it, are those worth more?

Thanks

by t25, you mean a tritium dial? not sure what you're referring to. in any event, value wise, there will be nothing unique about this sub - other than the fact that it is a great watch.

i'd say go for it... let the ceramic subs come down in value a little and get a pre-owned one for less. i forgot exactly how much the new subs are going for... but it is a price that is double or so of that 16610, and i don't think that it is twice-as-good of a watch.

best of luck
