Basel?!
Dear friends:
As we all know, Basel is just around the corner and we are all looking forward to Rolex news....will a new version of the SS GMT be released? Will new clasps be included in all SS sports models? Will there be any shocking news? Or will this be another year in which Rolex makes no new moves? This brings 2 questions to my mind: 1.- Most luxury items are 'spied upon' and released @ web before the official release date; I am a proud BMW owner and you can peek at the new models 3-6 months before they are available through several websites; is there something like this for the watch industry? Or just TZ Industry News? 2.- How will we get our Basel information? Is any of our european friends here visiting this year's show? Who will report? Well, looking forward to this year's news; to me, biggest news would be new case & clasp designs available for all SS models...but that is my 2 cents. |

Good post, Gerardo. Now you've got all of us curious and intrigued as to what goods Rolex is gonna come up with at Basel!!
Yes, it would be interesting to see the new introductions from Rolex this year. JJ

TZ has good info on new models.
As slow as Rolex moves I am sure we will not see anything too drastic. |

I've read all kinds of speculation from the new SS GMT to a new Milgauss to the SD getting the maxi and new case.
It won't be long till we know for sure.....I would like to see a new SS GMT though. |

What we need is a 39mm Datejust or an Explorer 1 Date in 39mm with maxi dial!
Or my favorite, an update Military Sub version. Maxi Dial, welded lug pins, and a Nato Strap and Submariner printed in Red. |

What we really need is for the DJs and DDs to be pumped up to at least 38 mm!!

I would like to see a 44mm SS GMT. I am getting used to large watches. I know that will not happen.
Anyway I am sure there will be reports on TZ on any new models on the first day of the show.

My AD told me (somebody else mentioned this on the forum) that her distributor said the Green Sub is no more. This was the last year according to him. We'll see.

Spoke with a local AD this afternoon. She said that all rumours can be ignored until Basel.
She's probably right. |

Agree with you 100% JJ. A 38 mm Datejust with all brushed SS bracelet, and I would buy one more watch for my collection! |
