Hi guys,
I have owned my GMTIIC for about a month now and I think it is an absolutely fantastic watch. The solid link bracelet, the well-engineered clasp, the beautiful ceramic bezel...it simply exudes quality and looks great on the wrist. But the real question is...how does it make me feel?

I have come to realize that is really the bottom line in this hobby...the way each watch in your collection makes you feel.

I have noticed in the last month, that it has been my trusty Sea Dweller 16600 that has garnered most of the wrist time, despite the compelling feature set of the new GMT. There is something intangible that I absolutely love about this watch. Perhaps it is the proportions of the case, the magical way the light shimmers off the tall crystal, the caseback engravings, the clean simple dial or even the HE valve that I will never use.

It is my hope that each one of you guys (and gals) finds a watch that makes you feel the way that my Sea Dweller makes me feel each and every time I wear it...because, in this endeavor, it is really the only thing that matters.

So, I would love to see pictures of the one watch in your collection that you always gravitate back to regardless of the other watches that you acquire. Here is mine...

I always gravitate back to the SUB, the SUB-C (SS) has been my favorite watch of all time. Im not really a PCL type of guy.

I completely get what you are talking about. For me, there is no one watch that always speaks to me that way, but I have brief flings with each until another calls out to me. For this reason, my classic sub speaks to me just as compellingly as my modern ceramic sports models regardless of all the improvements made to the ceramic models. Just not always. I love the way the light shimmers off the bezel, the way the crystal sits just above the bezel insert, the oversized date, the aluminum insert, and yes, the light hollow bracelet with unsubstantial clasp. Sometimes though I want a slab of 18k/ ss gold on my wrist, a maxi-dial and a heavy modern clasp; something more substantial. But all of the improvements actually make me appreciate the quirks of the classic model for what they are, and have actually enhanced the warm fuzzies I get when I wear it.

I hear you.....I have owned many a watch, and I have loved them all....
But my 1665 speaks to me like no other.....
Although I will admit that a nice 16600 with lug holes would be a close second....

I too love my SD, it gets more wrist time, my Speedmaster is not even a close second.
Daytona sees the light of day maybe once a month as does my GMT.
The other 40 odd watches never leave the safe.

Very nice--I gravitate to different watches depending on how I feel. I do gravitate to vintage ones more so than newer models--my DRSD being one.

I'd take SD over GMT anyday. Not a fan of the bubble, and love the thickness of the divers watch.

I had the infatuation as well, until I got my Deep Sea. of Course I have a meat paw, so bigger is better for me.

I totally get it. Yes, I love my GMTIIC, my SubC and the rest, but I always come back to my SD as my overall favorite.

The strange paradox for me is that one of the main reasons I like my SD is also the same reason it is getting harder for me to wear it. I love that the SD does not have a date magnifier, but as I get older, the "unmagnified" date is getting harder for me to read at a glance! Hmmm.....

The SD is an amazing watch, and one of my all time favorites. As far as sports Rolex go its near perfect, I even find the clasp charming!

I guess the Sub is the one I gravitate to usually, but I love both my Rolex watches, and mostly it comes down to my mood. I'll wear one for 4-6 weeks, then wear the other, then throw in an Omega every once in a while. That's the beauty of owning more than one watch.
