Question on Pam 270

I'm going to buy a Rolex or Pam next month. The 270 is one I'm considering. For those who own a 270 or have used it in the past, can you give your opinion on how you like it or hate it.

Thanks.

Nice piece but too thick IMO, doesn't sit well on my wrist. YMMV.

Phenomenal watch, I kick myself for getting rid of it... Miss it dearly.

Mike, I've never owned a 270, but I've had a few on.

To me these references represent the "next level" (for want of a better term).

It's an amazing watch and one that's always been on my radar.

I love my 270, it's not much thicker than the 233.

The 270 is a beauty. I have the 233 and here are some of the reasons why I like it which you may consider as an option to the 270.

The manual winding of the 233 is *very* efficient. To wind the full 8 day PR, its actually easier and faster to wind than my 000. So don't let that bother you too much unless you really prefer the auto. The 8 day PR on the 233 runs for such a long time - up to 10 hours I hv heard, so its got plenty of juice.

I have an OEM gator and I think the 270 gator is a killer. Much nicer than the tunnel strap that comes with the 233.

Can't go wrong either way. Good luck.

270 was my first PAM

Have owned several Rolex & Tudor sport watches for almost 25 years , actually have 11 in my small collection ( 4 GMTs / 3 Daytonas / 1 Sea Dweller / 1 SDDS / 1 Explorer / 1 Heritage Chrono ) , when I went looking for my first PAM , the 270 was my choice , no regrets , 1950 case , super dome crystal , 10 days (which gives me the choice to rotate between watches) , croc strap , AM/PM indicator (like it more than the dot) , GMT & date , massive , all you want in a PAM in just one watch !

Damn! What a collection.... and I'm jealous of that pic. Makes me want to rush home and swap my Omega PO for the PAM! Happy Friday

Got one a week ago. It is big, but not too big even for my puny wrists.

Going from a bracelet to a leather band is more of an adjustment than the size. That would be the only reason I might not keep it.

Readability of the dial is a huge plus for me. The lume isn't as good as I expected, but the reflections of light off the hands more than makes up for the lack of lume in most cases.

It is nice a nice feeling knowing I didn't compromise.

You really can't go wrong. Good luck.

Love mine and here are some pictures...

The most worn Panerai in my collection. Very versatile and prefer the automatic vs. the manual wind of the PAM 233.

I like Pam270,
Especially the glass windshield.
but switching the linear power reserve to back for an autowind calibre is much better!

Why do u like the am/pm indicator more than the dot?
In fact, at first sight, I didn't like my am/pm very much on my 270...
So I'd like to listen more to your opinion!

Last year I was trying to decide between the 233 and the 270. I end up with a 233 because I wanted a manual wind in my collection.

The 270 is a really beauty and there are less of them out there. I love my 233 and can't imagine why anyone wouldn't love a 270. The 1950 case and domed crystal are just awesome! It's a big watch with great presence on the wrist.

To TswaneNguni,

I am curious, although I am on my 270...
