How much is a new Rolex bracelet? ...
A friend/coworker has had a GMT-II for about 11 years, new as a wedding gift. (Yeah, I know, wish my wife got me one.)
He had it serviced about 5-6 years ago in the Dallas service center, routine, no problems. Maybe $375 I think he said? He is considering sending it again. How much is a replacement bracelet? He said the original one is pretty stretched out. Any quality aftermarket alternatives worth considering? Thanks! Chris p.s. When I had Omega/Swatch in NJ service my Speedy 4 years ago it was I think $485, now they want $590. ;-(

Italian bracelets are around $700 (fit Rolex but not branded)
The brand new oysters might be over $1k from Rolex |

A couple comments:
I think the $700 price for the "Italian" aftemarket bracelets is for TT, not stainless. Decent aftermarket, stainless-only bracelets can be had for less than $100. I would guess that a new Roelx bracelet in TT is well above $1,000. Needing a replacement after only 11 years sounds unusual. Has the bracelet been mistreated? I would expect a bracelet to show very little stretch in that few years. |

I know original Rolex bracelets are expensive but they are well worth it. I also am inquisitive but why would he need a new bracelet after only eleven years???

I have never understood people who buy an expensive watch, and then becomes stingy when it comes to service and spareparts.
It costs money to fly 1. class. No aftermarket. Buy a new original or try to find a used in good condition. |

I understand it. You buy a watch and then the price of a new watch skyrockets way beyond the ordinary rate of inflation. Along with the price of the watch itself increasing outrageously in price, the prices for replacement parts and service increase in a like manner.

How about when the cost of a replacement bracelet exceeds the original cost of the watch!

I just bought 4-2 new and 2 almost new--perfect. I paid $600 each for the used ones and $950 for the brand new ones--all of them 93150's with 580 ends. I like to swap them out with my older vintage bracelets-much more comfortable and saves my vintage bracelets from wear!!

Salaries was also less than today. Rolex has always been expensive. I don“t know which ref. it is, but fx when the 16750 was launched in the early 80“s it was one of the most expensive steel sportsmodels (if not the most), even the Daytona chronograph (more complicated) was less. |

Depends on the type...Oyster or Jubilee..
I had a new bracelet 78360 Oyster put on my GMT at the Hong Kong Rolex SC and it was about $475 USD. Price for Jubilee was $550 USD

I suspect you don't have to go back 20 - 30 years for this to apply; Rolex prices have climbed pretty steeply in the last few years, more so than the actual economy would warrent.

I had my 16700 GMT serviced last fall by RSC New York and was also charged $475 for a new 78360 Oyster. And they sent my old one back.
