I'm bad... Why can't I resist the allure?

The stores opened at 7 a.m. yesterday, so I stopped by my AD "just to look." I should know better because I can't "just look." I'm terrible when I walk in there. I have no restraint whatsoever. They give me a cup of coffee, slip on the green Rolex gloves, and I melt at the knees. Needless to say, I walked out with a beautiful TT Daytona, white dial, black subdials... Paul Newman style. I had several to choose from and narrowed it down to the white/black dial and a blue dial. Both were striking, but the white and black combination just grabbed me more.

The watch is beautiful. The dial is not a true white; almost a metallic off-white. In any event, I can see this watch will be a scratch magnet. I've admired the Daytona for some time, so I hope the scratches don't turn me off. There's already hairline on one of the links that the AD will be buffing out. I have to get over it.

I admire those that really "wear" their watches. I get there, eventually. My Sub has become a daily wearer (got the first scratch already), but now I will have the difficult daily choice of which watch to wear.

Thankfully, my winder only holds 4 watches. My watch box holds 10. That could pose a problem.

On a related note, I stopped by a car dealer yesterday too... but at least there I had restraint and walked out... they weren't wearing green gloves!

I'll post a pic soon. So, the new Daytona gets to sit alongside the DJII, SubC LV, and Milgauss GV.

To those that celebrate, Merry Christmas, and to all a very happy new year! I know my Christmas will be merry!

Congrats and Merry Christmas. I have been stopping by AD's and it is difficult to resist once they ask "if we gave you 20% off will you buy today?".

I can sympathize with you! I did the exact same thing. Walked into an AD a few weeks back to browse and walked out with a Deepsea and SS black face Daytona. Logically it was a dumb and wasteful move but man am I beaming from ear to ear!

I am very sure your Christmas will be very merry!

Merry Christmas!
