New Rolex DD question, please help :)

I went to the shop yesterday and the guy said he has the watch in the shop and he also has the White Dial / Roman Numerals, but he will need to switch the dials in the watch to the one i want. Is this ok with it being a brand new watch or should i just order a new one through the shop direct from Rolex ?

He did say that the whole thing will only take 30mins and will put me in the VIP room along with a bottle of Champagne while i wait, but still not sure to switch the dials or just order.

Thanks for any help

Are we talking a Rolex AD or a regular shop?

If an AD with a Rolex certified watchmaker in the back I wouldn't hesitate.

If you don't mind waiting and for peace of mind then go ahead and order it.

Will it make a difference in the future what dial is listed on the warranty card / certificate? As long as everything is factory?

If you are buying brand new and are paying the going rate then tell him you want him to order you the exact one directly from Rolex!! What's the point in having your new watch re-assembled slightly from the start when you can get one straight out of production like that. You're the customer and you have that choice!

If you order one through an AD they will most likely charge you full retail.

Can you imagine any AD having in stock All models with all dials..?

Just impossible even for the factory in Geneva.
Anyway..
changing a dial is as easy as A B C and does not hurt your Rolex.

Get them to give you both dials. That way you have the original one.

Did you ever ask for the discount? I have heard of 15-20% off not being unusual.
