I've had no experience but I think a SS bracelet from rolex would cost about $1000.00USD!!!

Even used on eBay you should expect to pay $400+ for authentic.

EXACTLY, I would not even lie about it. I would bring/send in the watch head alone and request a new bracelet, this way you get the new one and get to keep the old one

I always thought that Rolex did not allow ADs to sell replacement bracelets. I have a Datejust 16234 that came with a Jubilee bracelet and wanted to change it to an Oyster. On a recent business trip to California I inquired at an AD and was told they would do it but I had to bring the watch in. I didn't have it with me. When I got back home to Hamburg I asked the AD here and they sold me an Oyster bracelet for €380 (about $500). I don't know if Rolex changed their policy on this, but again I had thought it was not allowed.

new bracelet is about 1000 dollars, and i agree with the above statements, do not send your watch in with the old bracelet they will take it, send the watch in on a cheap 20 dollar leather band, say that how you bought it

I thought the bracelets were one part that didnt need to be exchanged. It was the other parts that was abit of a hassle.

I think that is very naughty. You paid for the strap when you purchased the watch, so it is yours, why should they be able to take it from you just becasue you want a new one.

Ridiculous that you have to take your band off and put on a cheap Chinese leather band to get them to work on YOUR watch. They have no problem taking your money and they want to keep the old band?!? Simply ridiculous. Find an excellent watchmaker and give them your business. RSC in the USA seems to have issues.

Buying parts is becoming a problem indeed !
But buying a bracelet for your Explorer II should not be difficult A realistic price for a decent one is around $700-$800 (flip lock type) Just post a WTB (want to buy) thread for one right here at TRF. |

Getting any bracelet here in the UK isn't a problem
Any AD will do this for you and delivery time is usually 10 days.

They are in Canada. When I inquired about a replacement bracelet for my 1630, Rolex Canada told me that it would have to be ordered from Switzerland, it was $3,400 exchange, and they had to have physical custody of the watch and bracelet before they'd order the new one.

x2 for UK. I have ordered two bracelets for different watches in the last two years. In my case I had to take my watch in to the AD they noted details of the watch (ref number and serial number I seem to remember) then contacted Rolex and received bracelets within 5 days.
