Great one to share, thanks for doing that...it gives you a feel for the changes in engine design over the years. The deeper "throaty" exhaust notes of the vintage cars can easily be discerned from the newer 19K RPM models.
I've chaired a couple of Challenge events where the vintage cars and early 2000 cars are brought out for their own race groups and the sound is incredible. On a single car qually lap you can hear it coming to you from a mile or more away and building to the full-on crescendo down a long back-straight. During the race it is like a symphony at 110Db - hearing protection required!!!
