Service intervals compared to Omega

Hi All
I currently own the new GMT IIc and also a Omega Planet Ocean. The PO has the Co Axial movement and I have read that servicing for this watch is every 8-10 years due to this Advancement. I also have read that Omega have turned down the Vph to 25000 to help reduce wear.
However I have also read about Rolexes some people don't service there watches for 8-10 years and more!!! With no ill effects.
Given a Rolex Vph is about 28,000 Vph is this why the second hand sweeps more smoothly ? and if servicing is about the same in years? Does the Co Axial movement have any advantages over Rolex? Or do Rolex watches need servicing every 3-5 years? Any ideas

to answer your questions, yes the co-axil is designed to reduce wear but omega have withdrawn there recommendation of service intervals of 8-10 and reduced it down to 5-7 years because things like the drive train and mainsprings still under the same tension as before and require proper lubrication
as for the BPH yes rolex runs 'higher' which is indicated by a 'smother sweep' but they still have the same recommended service intervals.
in saying all of this my EXPII is nearing 13 years old and has yet to have a service. (i will do it soon i promise )
so if you bought your PO so you wouldnt have to have it serviced then sorry but you still should. remember prevention is better than cure and its easier to keep a watch going than it is to revive a dead one .

well that is a tough one. and it does depend if we are comparing the PO you currently have vs say a Sub (cant with gmt apples and oranges) the the 2500c is a great relible movement but the rolex cal 3135 is without a doubt better, although it is close both have a good 48 hr power reserve and the 2500c has a co-axil but the rolex had a better shock absorption system and the newer 3135 has a parachrom hairspring which is better than the nivorex which is currently used by omega.
neither of them a "beautifully decorated" but they both are finished to nice detail.
at the end of the day if your choosing between the movements then look at the watch face that is the most pleasant for you to decide cause the movements are pretty damn close and should (with proper care) last longer than you!
