Well my new baby has finally arrived :-)

Hey guys

Thought I'd share my new arrival with you and to also express my huge thanks and appreciation to Al (Alanski) for organising everything. What a great guy, sourced it for me, checked it all out - even hand delivered it to my doorstep

Big thanks also go out to Orchi who's attention to detail is quite frankly unbelievable and a great guy to have in your corner Thanks also to Ralf Eichmann of www.vintage-watches-intenational.com who has also been fantastically helpful even though this was not one of his sales.

Anyway this is my new arrival - a Mark IV Open 6's FF Red from 1970 with box, double punched papers etc etc I even have the original purchase receipt and finance papers. Also has the original crown which you don't see that often these days although changing the date is a little slower . Only addition as far as i can see is a later pearl which I can live with :-)

It came with the original 9315 bracelet with 280 ends but now wearing it on a black Ostrich leather with red stitching and deployant buckle from ABP in Paris which definitely looks the part. Photos to follow

Awesome score and what a complete package! Do your lugs have chamfers? I can't tell from the angles of the photos. I've been drooling over chamfers after seeing Jason71's Red Sub.

Yes - all chamfers present and correct. I will take some photos later together with the new strap. The only Rolex service was in 82 and not even the crown was changed so possibly just one minor polish in its lifetime. And yes i was also drooling over Jason's photos

Huge Congrats, I hope to have a Red Sub fairly soon myself. I think the little bit of Red just looks amazing.

Congratulations!! Awesome set you have there.

Hate to bring this up, but are you going to pursue the final bits & pieces to make it a complete set? As a fellow red Sub owner, I've been trying to locate such arcane things as the copper/brass Sub anchor and the triplock tag........

Thanks and yes, inevitably, having gone this far, the collector in me will now start trawling the web and contacts for the remaining items particularly the anchor and booklet. Need to do some research to establish what an absolutely full set would have contained as i have all the hard to find bits thankfully. I can see my watch addiction rising to another new level
