Just ordered myself a seiko black monster

I never really like the idea of ordering from ebay personally, this time I find one directly from amazon with extra 10% off.

Not bad for 135 shipped.

Congratulations, Ken. I have one and love it. You'll be able to use the lume on that baby to find your way around in the dark!!!

I bough a couple, one with bracelet and one with rubber strap - great value and they double as a reading lamp.
Also bought a Seiko kinetic (5M62) - the lume is not as good as the monster but a minute of shaking runs it for about 3 months.

Hi Steve,

No winder and the instructions say to shake it so I am building a big shaker right now.
This kinetic beast weight 192 grams (28% heavier than my SD) but look at the size of the bracelet.. The lume is not as good as the monster.
Accuracy is as per quartz.

Why not wait for one which has the improved 6R15 movement?
From recent reviews of the new movement, it runs at +2-3s/day after breaking in. That is a major improvement over the 7S25 or 7S26 movement which gains at least 10s per day.

Nice! To me that's a "tool" watch...But be careful...You may like it so much that you may end up with a monster collection:

Seiko is the most reliable and accurate watch that I have ever owned. My mother bought me a Seiko automatic for my 12th birthday and so many decades later, it is still working like a charm. I went swimming with it, I banged it around a lot and to this date it still looks brand new. That watch is almost scratch proof. Thoughout the years, I received a lot compliments from strangers what a good looking watch it was.
