Keep or flip?

I picked up a 16660 Sea Dweller from my dealer a few months ago. Pretty good condition with nice creamy patina. 9.67 mil serial, original gloss dial, the only real "flaws" is that the case back is unengraved and lightly chipped crystal.

Been getting the itch for a change.... Should I,

1) Flip it for a 16600 SD
2) Sell and buy a matte 16800
3) Sell and buy a new sub-c

Opinions?

I would chose option #3..

That is my biased opinion.

I'm biased so I'd have to say #3.

No really though. I think it's the best modern Rolex you can get today. Try it on and you'll see what the buzz is about.

Some thoughts

1)My dealer has a sd16600 in stock so a trade plus cash would be a quick fix

2)16800 vs 16660 pretty even value, just would need to sell my watch first.

3)Obviously a great choice, but the most pricey

Since you have already bought a SD, I assume that you like it in the first place
If so, I would go for option 1, instead of keeping the current vintage piece.

Sub C is nice but there is something about the SD (which I couldn't exactly pinpoint) that makes it great... perhaps it's a combination of the cyclopless crystal, weight, etc

Deap sea sea dweller!!!

Oh wait, it's not on the list!!!

I'll go with the SUB C

I was faced with a similar dilemma: flip either my sea dweller or SUB C for the 312K.
I chose the SUB C and the sea dweller went bye bye. No regret(yet) I love the SUB C, my only Rolex for now, let's see how long that last.

It all depends on what your needs are and how you use the watch. I have a SD16600 and I've used it 2-3 times since I got my SubC 6 months ago. The new Sub has far better lume (important to me) and readability, it is more comfortable on the wrist with the new gen bracelet, and the weight is just right to me.

Then again, anyone can walk into an AD and buy a SubC these days. If you are looking for something slightly more unique, the SD 16660 is a nice piece. BTW, you can have the back and the crystal replaced.

I say buy the one you like most. If it was a matte dial 16660, then I would say keep it! But since it is a gloss, I am only partial to it.
