Leather strap question from Newbie

I currently have a Bi metal DJ and the Jubilee bracelet is a little bit stretched.

I would like some advice from you wise experts.

I fancy a nice leather strap and I was wondering what the lug size is for the mens DJ I think it's 20 mm but iam not sure....

Are there any other tools you need to fit a leather strap??

Does anyone recommend somewhere to get decent leather straps??

Secondly what are the options for refurbishing the stretched Jubilee bracelet? Is this worth it?

To your questions:

I don't think it pays to refurbish a stretched Jubilee. When they are stretched, they are............eh.........:

And then it is almost impossible to repair. You might want to consider buying a new Jubilee (but I don't know if you can even make the NEW NEW Jubilee bracelet fit an older DJ model. But IF that is possible, GO for it, since the newest Jubilee bracelets are MUCH better made than the old, i.e. solid end links (SEL) and solid centre links much less proned to stretch).

And I would consider buying a SILICONE watch strap since you can take it off from time to time and wash it (and of course wear your Rolex while swimming or having a shower if you are the type that does that).

Several members here have sent their bracelets to http://www.classicwatchparts.com in Hong Kong, and have been very happy with the results.

Michael Young there has done some amazing work rebuilding their worn bracelets judging by the photos posted here.

As far as I remember, yes. The DJ needs a 20 MM bracelet / strap.

Please note: You have to order the pins separately! In other words: You don't get the pins with the strap. If you place "ONE" (1) as quantity when ordering the pins, you get TWO pins!

A good quality leather strap looks very good on a DJ.

I say go for it. Google Rolex leather strap and you will have more selection than you can absorb.

Save that jubilee and have it refurbished while your DJ is on leather as Al has suggested.
