I was in a jewelry store Town&Country in the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, NJ and saw that they do aftermarket diamond dial and bezels. They had a TT Datejust 116233 which had a MOP diamond dial and bezel it looked very nice, however I feel that going aftermarket would make the watch worth less and RSC will not ever work on it without changing the dial. Have any of you done aftermarket dials or bezels on your Rolexes and what are the pros and cons of doing so.

I wouldn't have it as my daily wearer but the mop dial can look good.

My wife has a lady date-just that came with what is probably an aftermarket diamond bezel. It looks great, yet is easy to remove and replace with the original fluted bezel if needed. I'm not a fan of diamond dials even if original factory Rolex.

to many pit falls with these parts, loss of waterproofness, loss of warranty, rolex won't touch them, most of us know the parts are aftermarket here on the forum and when we see them out and about snigger about it, low quality diamonds should i go on.

Diamonds?? They are a woman's best friend but do not belong anywhere on a man or his watch IMHO...

After market anything is NEVER a good idea...especially with cars and watches

Not a fan of diamonds for guys. However, diamonds on a dial aren't a bad way to mark the hours, and the effect is pretty understated. When you add diamonds on the bezels, the watch becomes very blingy, IMO. As to service, lots of decent watch guys can work on a DJ. Whatever you do, diamonds can we "reversed".

I have a few timepieces that do have diamonds... non-Rolex. I do enjoy them, but on a Rolex, I prefer not.

Rolex is so prestigious why would you put on an aftermarket dial that is probably not up to par? Especially diamonds. I think Rolex only uses VVS quality diamonds. I doubt any aftermarket company does this.

Thank you for your feedback, I will not be touching any aftermarket diamond dials or bezels. I will leave my DJ factory, the only thing I might change in the future is have Rolex put in a service dial when the Trituim is completely gone. I might go with a stick markers dial they are very classic. My DJ is not a watch that will ever be sold, it will get passed on to my nephew when he graduates college in 20 years. By then he will be getting a 40 year old Rolex DJ.

However I am a Rolex Sports Model fan so precious stones and metals are not high on my list. I have a wife for that sort of thing :)

I don't like diamond dials period. (Pardon the redundant punctuation.)

Aside from that issue, I would steer clear of aftermarket dials but that's just me. I'd worry about the warranty, and the quality of the replacement dial.

In my relationship I am the wife. I love diamonds on a watch, nothing crazy just a diamond dial, however I decided not to go aftermarket to satisfy my diamond needs. Thanks for your advice, have a great day.

I think the DDII with the diamonds for the numbers looks very nice. they are small and hardly noticeable. But other than that I haven't seen any on wetiher the bezel or dial that I particularly care for.
