FS: RARE 14K Accutron 218 w/ TUNING FORK BRACELET - Gold is HIGH!
Until this one came my way, I had never even seen one like it before . . .
In excellent over-all condition, it's a 1972 (N2) Bulova Accutron in 14K gold with integrated bracelet links comprised of the famous tuning fork logo! The dial is a crème color with a linen pattern; there is a day / date aperture at 3 o'clock. The Accutron 2182 tuning-fork module is keeping good time, with a battery recently fitted. The watch will fit a wrist of approximately 7 1/4". The initials D.F.H. are very finely engraved on the clasp. The oval case & tuning fork logo links bracelet weigh in at 73.2 grams, and if you deduct about 10 grams for the weight of the module, you're left with around 63 grams of 14K yellow gold. I figure the gold alone is worth around $1600, and the running 2182 module is worth another $50 or so . . . If you want a really rare, really collectible watch, you'd be hard-pressed to do better than this one . . . Preferred forms of payment include a personal cheque, cashier's cheque, wire transfer, or money order. If payment is made by PayPal, 3% will be added for a US buyer, and 4% will be added for payment initiated in non-US funds. No trades, please. $1799 plus actual carriage. Please contact me through the board's PM or e-mail system. Postage will be determined by the service desired, and the delivery address or region. |
