Smart trade?

Hi All,

Does it make sense to trade a lady Datejust 179174, Rolex MOP diamond dial, new-style Jubilee bracelet for a new Datejust 116234, white Roman dial?

I purchased the ladies' watch new last year, but I'd like a larger dial that's more fashionable and easier to read.

Am I trading up or down?

I personally think it's a trade down and you would be loosing money on the trade. But, if you'd rather have a larger watch then go for it.

The price of your 179174 with MOP Diamond Dial has gone up to $10900.00 this year.
The price for the 116234 with MOP Diamond Dial is $11800.00
The price for the 116234 with Roman Dial is $7500.00

When you want to do a trade you will undoubtedly loose a big chunk.

I agree that you will lose $$$ trading the watch you currently own. It really comes down to what you paid for your current watch and the price of the new one to determine the loss and how badly you want a larger watch

If the smaller watch does not appeal to you anymore then go for what you like

I got a pretty good deal last year on the Lady Datejust from an AD because it was new-old stock. It has the new Jubilee bracelet. The trade-in value and cash offers I've received are very close to the price I paid for it. I have a feeling that I should keep it.

It's so elegant and understated. Maybe I'll try to find a later model pre-owned one. I really want the new-style Jubilee bracelet and the engraved rehaut.
