Does a new sub come with the anchor?

Hi there!

I just bought my submariner yesterday and i'm just wondering if it comes with the anchor cuz mine did not. I do not have the cert too but a plastic card which says 'Rolex Guarantie' with the serial number and my name written on it.

I believe you should have received the anchor with a new purchase

Rolex no longer ships the anchor with the submariner or sea dweller. They havent for a few years now.

I think it's really cool that you got the new plastic warranty card though.

Congrats on your new sub

Thank you!

I was still worried just an hour ago that I had been shortchanged by my reputable AD.

I just got my new Sub (Z serial #) from AD with no anchor. Looks like I missed the cutoff, but I'm sure if you really want to pick one up you can find one on ebay, etc.

Same with me although I did not get a plastic card - just the traditional certificate with hole punched serial number

Rolex stopped issuing the anchor a few years back

Did your watch have the hologram on the back of it, or just a plastic cover with a number on it?

My new Exp-II purchased only last Saturday, came with a plastic guarantee card, but with the usual hologram.

How new are these cards? Does it have to be a Z serial number to get one?

Not necessarily. My Z-series Blue Sub and sold off SD came with the usual paper certificate.

I just got lucky with this one.

The anchors are not supplied any more.

There are a lot of fakes out there so be cautious when purchasing one.

Interesting - you got lucky to get a hologram! I recently saw a SS Sub date that had the hard card (no paper) and NO hologram! Just the watch plastic with the red line through it, and then the number on the clear plastic...

My new sub has hologram but no model # listed on it. Is that normal?

My Sub bought in 1999 came with one, the LV Sub I bought two years ago did not.

The GMT ought to come with a polishing cloth. New model with shiny centerlinks comes with no polishing cloth! Old model with with brushed finish did. WTF!

Anchors away

When I bought my Sub in 1995 it came with an anchor. However my Sea Dwellers in 1996 & 2005 did not. I'm sure you'll get by without it.

Nothing. It was a little trinket that used to come with the watch. Some do collect them,

Just purchased one from the link below. The site claims they are authentic and another on this forum confirmed that they are. Others might have some info. on them. They do have a lot of Rolex accessories though. Worth looking at.

Maybe the little anchor will be "in case of emergency" if you wear your Rolex in the bathtub.

That's interesting. Could we possibly have a pic of the caseback? Just curious.

Thanks - JJ

I'll try to get a good one taken here this weekend; was having a hard time getting something clear to come out. Clear plastic sticker on the back with 16610 in black. Made the tech at Ben Bridge open the case back so I could inspect the movement. Also received the hard card instead of the paperwork.

That's the funny bit. I received the new Plastic Warranty Card with my new Exp-II, but the watch still came with the original hologram on the caseback.
