UK-based watch insurance

Hi all.

I own a 6-month old Milgauss GV which I have insured on my home & contents insurance. It raised the premium by £90/year.

The time has come to renew and I'm not sure if it's wise to includethe watch on the standard H&C insurance.

Are there any specialist, UK-based watch insurance companies out there you can recommend, and how much might they cost /year..?

thanks!

Change your Home Contents Insurer.

I'm with Regal, jewellery items over £5k have to be specified up to total circa £45k before they want safe / intruder alarm etc.

I know people that have separate items covered with these guys but think it works out more expensive in the long run.

I tried them when I first bought my red sub & it worked out at £300 pa to insure.
I rang Regal thinking they'd jack up my premium or there'd be other stipulations but they just added it to the contents policy without batting an eyelid

My annual 'city centre postcode' Home Contents premium is approx £450

Hope this helps

Although I now include my watches as specified items on the general household insurance, I am aware that ADs once upon a time were able to offer insurance for items of the type which they sold (whether or not the given item had been sold by them). Whether this type of policy would be competative, or indeed if it is still available, I don't know - but it might be worth asking.
