I think i may have turned my designer in to a WIS

Yes you read the title correctly.. I work in advertising, and part of my role requires i have a dedicated designer to help me with the production of creative, he's a great guy and definitely NOT into watches at all..Enter my total obsession with Rolex and many other watch brands and my incessant day to day talk that only a WIS would really care about, well after two years i have finally chipped away at him! No he's not investing, but now he curses me, because he finds himself constantly looking at peoples wrists, trying to see what watch they are wearing, he said that i have "Corrupted" him, i corrected him and said i have given him an "Education" I mentioned that he never knows what he could find out there and armed with a bit of knowledge he might find a bargain...For me

I hear you considering its just not in his makeup, he's the kind of person who
says "I'd rather have a real quicksilver watch over a fake swiss watch any day"

Well no good can come from creating a WIS out of a subordinate; He/she will only want more $$$ to buy more watches and if you dont pay up... may resort to dishonest means to feed the new addiction...at YOUR expense

Remember .... no free lunches in life!

The "Subordinate" just read your post and literally fell over laughing..
he may have WIS traits, but he's such a nice bloke, i doubt he will turn
he's definitely not into watches! I show him pictures of watches all day and get his opinion for a laugh..showed him an AP Roo and he said it looked like
a toy you find in a show bag... I seriously doubt he will be bitten by the bug...

Being the Rolex and AD roo loving slave driver you are and what you probably pay the poor lad to keep your Rolex habit, he will probably have to sell it and buy a fake so you never find out, to feed his family the big Christmas goose hanging in the market and pay for Tiny Tims surgery

That is way too funny, honestly I'm not a slave driverIf i was buying him a watch it wouldn't be an AP, more like a nice simple explorer, understated and perfect for the rugged handling of the goose and timmy's home appendectomy!
He's paid well, he's a great designer...

If he wants to keep his job? What a great way to get a rolex, I LIKE IT!

Cheers to you both. If he is any kind of a designer at all he should be able to apprciate Rolex for its design innovation and tradition.

I've turned my entire family onto the watch thing..

Over the years they have gradually caught on. Very addictive.

Cheers Newportkrieger, he's said to me before that he thinks the Sub is
"Beautiful" so he definitely has taste and a great eye! My boss on the other hand reckons the submariner looks like a seiko..but that my friend is a topic
for a new thread..

Yeah that makes sense, and seems obvious, it was a low comment designed to offend, i just shrugged my shoulders, looked at his wrist and said
"Is that another fake"
