My First New Strap (What a Rush!)

i bought my first PAM, a 111, a few months back and had been fairly content swapping back and forth between the brown OEM leather and the black OEM rubber strap.

during this time i was casually scoping out new straps and while i came across LOTS that caught my eye, i hadn't been able to pull the trigger on anything.

that is until i saw this - a Gunny 'Vernon II'...

i really love the feel and heft of this type of aftermarket strap vs the OEMs. 24x24, the big buckle, the tail, the 2nd floating keeper...it just meshes perfectly with the chunkiness of the historic Luminor case.

the whole experience of waiting for the strap to arrive, the package coming in the mail, and strapping it on for the first time was truly amazing!

i really see how this could get addicting...

Nice score, congrats. I agree that the heftiness of non-OEM straps work great. Enjoy the strap addiction....great fun and a big pleasure of PAM ownership.

And sweet shot of the 111 in the second picture of yours.

Nice one. Looks a little like the OEM vintage calf that I've got on order.

Nice set Monty!
I own to straps from Peter and there both perfect. Plus he's a very nice guy to deal with, one of the top strap makers out there.

Congrats on the new strap...it looks great!

You've opened a whole new can of worms with the aftermarket straps. Each one gives your Pam a new look, and you will soon find yourself needing a separate box just to store straps.
