What camera do you use to snap your Rolex

I'm curious how some of you get those great pics of your Rolex.

Yes, I am jealous - What are you using to get that detail and in close?

I think there's another thread that asks what camera you have and there are plenty of answers in there.

But to answer your question, Nikon D200 with 105mm f/2.8 VR Micro lens.

Thanks vh,

Yep, I found that after I posted......seems I was on the Carribean when that was discussed..........I have been looking through it...

There's no post delete here so I was hoping this one would just fade away....

Apparently on this forum, once you have made the first step, you're in all the way...

Hi Tools, this is what I've been using presently. It's a Sony T100. I like the supermacro? function and steadyshot so I can take pictures in dim places without using the flash. Natural lighting is nice n I like it. Before I was using the VGA off of my Treo 680.

I use both Nikon Coolpix 5700 and Nikon D70, but I find that the CP 5700 is better since it has a built in Macro feature whereas my D70 is lacking due to lack of proper lens collection on my part, otherwise it would kick ass.

What a lot of people don't realise is just how wonderfully easy digital has made it.

Another thing a lot of people who buy DSLRs don't realise is that many of them have a CD rom that came with their package on which is a program you can install for "tethered shooting".

That is, once you run the program, you can set your camera on a tripod and cable it to your laptop (or PC), and control the camera from the laptop. This way, any photos you shoot appear on your big 14" (or bigger) monitor... and if you don't like what you see, re-shoot!

Good point, keltzar - welcome aboard, by the way!

What with all the whiz-bang bells and whistles on digital cameras these days, the type of camera you use doesn't really matter unless you're a die-hard photography nut. The key to it really is lighting - get that right and most of the battle's already won.

Anyway, this thread is more about photography than Rolexes, so I'm moving it to the Picture and Video Gallery forum.
