As long as it isn't a Rolex figure 1.5% - 2.5% import duty.

thank you.
Rolex = no duty ? Is there a site I can read on about the process ? I'm trying to avoid a delay/additional paperwork or actions required from my side, such as going to customs to pick up a package, etc. If it is time/effort consuming, I rather kill the idea. |

Rolex = no duty ? Quite likely there will be no duty, as Rolex will not allow a Rolex watch to be imported from outside the USA, into the USA There are strict guidelines on this procedure of which Rolex control. If you try to import a Rolex, there is a distinct probability that it will be stopped at customs and may be confiscated. If you are lucky, they may return the Rolex to the sender. There are some threads on this subject elsewhere on TRF. May be a better option to buy one within the USA, or even from our own trusted sellers. |

I have purchased maybe 100 watches from overseas (none Rolex) and have never had to pay any duties.

Thank you for the advise. It makes a lot of sense. What if the watch in question is not brand new ? |

Same rules would apply. A Rolex is a Rolex. Some second hand Rolex can command far higher resale prices than brand new ones. |

In Australia it all depends on value over 1000 Aussie dollars you pay 15% import duty, regardless if it a rolex , omega or any other item like a mountain bike, not sure about the USA I am sure the USA is better than here

I don't know where you got your information?
There is no duty payable in Australia on watches imported. You will pay 10% GST + clearance costs. The Customs will intercept packages of value. $1000 is not set in stone. Import a watch marked as a Rolex valued at $200 and see how you go. None of this helps the OP.
