First Rolex, First Posting
Greetings!
I would like to say I recently took delivery of my first Rolex, a classic stainless Submariner (16610)! I'm still figuring out how to take macro photos wth the Nikon, so there won't be pictures just yet. However, I would like to thank all of you for the way you exchange information like you are friends. I have been viewing TRF as a guest for quite a while, and have gleaned a LOT of good advice. For instance, the first purchase ended up being brand new, from an AD. The threads on buying used really helped, but without enough actual on-hands experience I was apprehensive about getting a fake. I got a huge, free extended warranty from the co., too, which was a big selling point. I aspire to be a collector one day, but this one's the keeper. Wanted one for 30 years, why didn't I do this sooner???!!! I feel much more confident when it comes to purchasing & collecting because of your good natures, and look foreward to participating in the forum! It's been an excellent fun and learning experience. Thank you all again!!!!!

I'm glad you finally got one! I remember you looking through my Rolex catalog over 20 years ago figuring out which ones you liked.
Come visit and bring the watch. I'll break it in for you by wearing it for the first month. You DO know that wearing a new Rolex during its first month is uncomfortable and sometimes even painful... Rawhyde |

Let me add my welcome to TRF, Jamie. Congratulations on getting that classic Rolex. You can't do much better than that.
You do realize, of course, that you are now afflicted with that dread disease - Rolexitis. It is chronic and incurable. Now that you have gotten your first one, you will shortly shortly start looking around for your next one. Will it be a YM, a GMT-II, a YG DD, a TT DJ. Oh, the possibilities are endless. It's a wonderful disease to have, so just relax and enjoy it. And stick around and keep posting.

Thanks again to all!! What a great welcome! I can't wait to get on with the fun! Perhaps a Pepsi or ceramic GMT and maybe an Air King one day. For now, I plan on photos... Yes, endlss possibilities are awesome, aren't they?
