Wearing Rolex going out on date (good or bad idea?)
would it be a bad idea to wear one on a date? I probably would wear a lower less formal one.
Anyone care to share experiences? I had a date comment on my watch, and imagine everyone looks but might not say anything? Would it be wiser to wear the timex? Not having a Rolex on to me is like not having one of my shoes on. |

Just don't wash your watch and have your date see you doing it before you leave....
I still have nightmares about that night.... |

Sure, why not. Don't flaunt it by wearing one of those dress shirts with the cut-out in the sleeve so it shows at all times, but wear it as you normally would.

No, ... You do not understand. There was a (now-removed) thread about my date one night that caused quite a... stir. It was about a year or so ago and dealt with her seeing me washing my watch before we left for the evening. It was very funny (as long as you weren't me). If you did not see it you would not understand what I was talking about.... Those who did, it brings back a laugh. Me, it gives me nightmares. |

Rolex. If that is what you would normally wear going to the identical place without a date. Be you.

Why would it be a bad idea?
When was the last time anyone noticed what watch you were wearing anyway?

Personally I am happily and faithfully married, and intend to stay that way, but view a first date as a job interview, showing up with a Deepsea or in the OP case, a 18K Meteorite dial with diamonds, will certainly send a message. I personally would never wear either of those to a job interview. To the OP: as Robert De Niro famously said in the movie Ronin: "When there is doubt, there is no doubt." Unless you are trying to impress some cougar gold-digger, I'd stay away from 18K diamond watches. |

I don't see how it could work against you unless the date HATES Rolex... and even then it's good to know that right away!
