Looks like a radial dial 1675, guards ground flush, refitted crown. I know that's not the likely explanation but that's what it reminds me off. The case does look slimmer like the 6542

yeah but service cases could have been made or issued for many serial numbers in my view, so i would like to know the model number on the case

I know Josh Bonifas @ Fourtane & he is a real honest & well respected dealer. I think the 6542 in question has a service case, dial, hands, etc. from the 1980's.

Sometimes dealers try to come with rarity bs to sell a watch at sky rocket prices!

If I had to guess I'd opt for a 6542 with a service dial. These dials were made/used in the 80's though to my knowledge they are somewhat rare.

Another indicator to me is the use of a large 24 hr. hand as perhaps the hand set was changed at service along with the dial.

turn-o-graph's?

That said, the inventory at fourtane is super drool - the milgauss and commando are
very unique compared to the so called "rare" stuff I've seen lately.
