No mention of anything at all in the seller's listing about the bezel?! Maybe his/her camera lens was misaligned when taking the pic

Maybe this seems ignorant, but is this a fake or a case of bad assembly after service (or God knows what)? I can't tell.

Something about the paperwork doesn't look right...

The watches looks good to me with the exception of the crooked bezel.

...I have been in touch with them...

...he said he is going to take it back to where he purchased it and have it corrected.

...says he purchased it NEW.

...thats what he says, but PERSONALLY, I do not think so.

...he has revised the listing as follows...

" please note! It has been brought to my attention that the bezel appears to be misaligned! I have no idea why or how it got that way. I have a receipt from an authorized rolex dealer where this watch was purchased on 9/29/2011. Which, i will include in the papers... Please, please, if you have any doubts about the authenticity, or you have seconds thoughts about the watch because of the bezel, please retract your bids before the twelth hour! The bezel can be realigned by a competent jeweler. "

I asked him if it was actually new and his response was "I did purchase this from Jared in Hurst. I have the receipt. As a new watch! It's completely Rolex!".

He then sent a second email stating "I guess you could consider it NOS. Although it's been worn. It's 100% Rolex!".

Huh?? Is it new or used? His ad also says it has solid end links. Do solid end link versions still have lug holes?

Yes. My 2001 Serial P 16570 has both.

The font/print of the model number/serial/dial should be slightly lighter in color than the one shown in the auction. I'm sure the dial is supposed to say "White Index" not just "White."

Isn't he contradicting himself in that sentence! Worn but NOS? If its worn its not new! If its not 100% Rolex then its fake

It wouldn't surprise me if he indeed purchased it from Jared's. I went to my local Jareds and they had 2 watches in the case described as "brand new" but with no factory tag, only a hand written price tag. I eyeballed one of them and found the caseback was threaded incorrectly/crossthreaded and the bracelet was sized. I showed the sales woman and she said "oh, I'll tell my manager" and put it back in the showcase. Sad.

Also Jared was famous for shipping watches to and from stores ALLLL The time...if a store was hot/selling good they always got watches shipped to them...
