The price doesn't sound realistic unless the seller knows nothing about Rolex and is selling it to get quick buck. Stolen, found, inherited, gifted....

Buy it if it's real and doesn't need a 900 dollar service.

I bought very nice used one for $4K with ROLEX ROLEX renult writing , it was V serial year ago than I traded it back to original seller for other watches he had after few month.
The used market prices has gone up thanks to newer models, The Submariner with date did not sing to me at all , pretty simple reason to give back to original seller when he made a pretty fair offer at the time of trade. I would have made some extra money if I kept the sub but thats not why I collect watches.

If the AD provides authentication it would be a great buy imo.

Sounds like a steal of a deal
Could be legit and the seller just wants to unload it with minimal effort

If he's willing to get it checked out by an AD, then I think you should be fine.

If he is willing to have checked by an AD and everything checks out, Go For It.

Yup, go for it -- whether it is stolen or not, you or AD will not be able to tell. But if it is authentic, AD can open the case and let you know there and then. Sometimes there are also deals out there too good to be true and timing is everything.

Today, I bought a 2001 Airking for $975. The other day, I bought a K serial 16610 for $3650. There are good deals to be found if you stay patient and be cautious.

If seller is willing to go to a AD, you got nothing to lose. I'd jump on it before someone else does. If you don't, I will. That's the truth. Word up.

To the OP: See what a great opportunity you have? People are willing to jump left and right and if you do not take the deal, then we'll all jump on you, and perform our own TRF gang initiation ritual to talk some sense into you So go for it dude-- Your sub is waiting..otherwise we'll all be waiting in the parking lot!

If the seller is willing to go to an AD to have it authenticated & everything checks out you better grab it. An opportunity like that doesn't come around that often.

who knows if it is stolen or not but the price the seller is asking, I think most of us would show up if we just knew where the deal was going down
But this is definitely not a police sting, that's for sure because the seller is asking a reasonable amount, and not a quick buck like $800 or something.

The economy is still in tatters, I would buy it if an AD authenticates it.

Plus ask if you can draw a Bill of Sale.

I would take him up on the offering- but make sure you bring it to an AD of YOUR choice for inspection. Just because the outside of the watch looks legit doesnt mean that the movement is 100%. Have them pop the case back off and inspect the movement to. Ale sure that all components are original or at least OEM replacements. The extra time and or money involved with a good inspection is the best insurance you can buy IMHO....

Good luck!
