Flip 114270 for 14060M???
On the fence as I have been wanting a 14060M for a few years. Trying to decided if I should keep the Explorer for a college graduation gift for my step son or trade it in on a new 14060M? What are your thoughts?

I always prefer not selling a Rolex unless it turns you off :D

Wait, so if you want the 14060M, you'll trade the explorer in for it...what does your step son get if you trade in that explorer? Or does he get the new 14060M? Or will you buy him something else?

I fliiped my Polar Expy for a Tudor Sub. Love my Sub but miss my Expy. When it's gone...it's gone. Keep it and give it to your stepson....that way it is sill in the fold. Just my thoughts.

Keep the expy - buy the Sub when you can.
One for him, one for you. |

My thought is I won't wear the Explorer much after getting another Sub, so I can put it in the safe and save it for him or should I buy him a new watch in a few years? |

I love the 14060M and I am sure you will too. The Explorer will definitely have reduced wrist time I think after you purchase the Sub. The only question is, do you trade it in to make the 14060M more affordable? If you do so, then you owe your step-son a nice watch in the future!
Getting a watch as a gift is a very personal thing, you would hate it if they person receiving it wasn't so thrilled (and may want to choose something else, etc). Since you are the one into watches, go get what you really want, but be willing to help your step son get something nice later on, too! Good luck! |

I couldn't flip my Explorer and I'd be hard pressed to give it away, even to a loved one.
In the 14060M and the 114270 you have two such beautiful classic watches. I can't wait until I get my Sub!

Keep it for your step son, and get another solution for 14060M.

I like the Submariner but I think the Explorer I has something special and you shouldn't flip it...just my two cents!

Thanks for all the response, I am leaning toward keeping the Explorer and adding a ND Sub.
