It's quite a popular model from what I have seen (on TRF at least), therefore I doubt it would be discontinued. May I ask where you heard that?

I saw the list of discontinued Rolexes for 2012 and...
the 14060M was not on the list, so it's still around.

As of a couple of minutes ago the 14060 sub is still on the Rolex website.

An AD nearby has one in their case but the sales person told me it was discontinued...so perhaps...but we won't know until next year.

My local AD had one on layaway and let me see that one. I asked when they would have one in and they couldn't tell me. I wonder.......

When I ordered my watch the AD said he didn't know if the 14060M was being produced and he'd have to check, which he did and it is. Personally, I don't expect that it will be dropped, but I do have a very strong feeling that it will be changed in some way for Basil.

ADs have been saying that for as long as I've followed these boards.

I'm just having a hard time believing that the Yachtmasters are history.
Surely, this denotes an update. And if that list is accurate, maybe it also means that there will be no update for the 14060M, because any change would include a new reference number.

Can you clarify from what it looked like to me all gold YM are just being discontinued or are all yachtmasters being discontinued?

It wouldn't surprise me if they discontinue the two tone one also. My husband is the only person I have seen with one. I think they are beautiful. I have a plat YM that would surprise me if that one was discontinued. But who knows?

What's interesting is that I picked up the latest Rolex brochure 2011/2012, it still has the 14060M in it, but the photo is with a 14060 ie. the dial is non-COSC. must be a print production error and they stuck an old photo in..
My first thought was Rolex had relaunched the "SUBMARINER" without COSC!! to hark back to older days.. but I think its highly unlikely |

And as we all know that some ADs have a habit of talking through where the sun don't shine.

The 14060M is in the latest Rolex Canada catalogue, released a month or so ago.

Who said "rumours about my death have been slightly exagerated" Maybe Im cynical but the thought of something being discontinued (especially if its iconic) spurs people into action. We could all be being played by the clever people in the marketing department at Rolex!

Fashion comes and goes but the Submariner remains - for some time yet. I don't think Rolex have got the nerve to discontinue it just yet...
I mean...look at it...Did you ever see anything so beautiful in your life...the rugged but stylish stainless steel...the intimacy and fabulously understated bling of the white gold markers and hands...the mysterious and fathomless gloss black face... Sorry, I was carried away. |
