Mickey Was Riight!

Much as I hate to admit it, Mickey was right. Had to take my 16700 to my AD today so it could be sent back to RUSA ... it began to lose about 15 seconds a day after being spot on the first week. I guess when I asked them to regulate it to +2 seconds a day, they laughed and got even. Ah, nutz! Sad day and my DD is also at RUSA for an overhaul so ... no Rolex on the wrist for a while.

That's too bad. At least you know it will come home perfect!

Well, I hope it does ... it didn't come back perfect the first time. BTW, I haven't been without a Rolex since 1996. I'm going through withdrawal and it ain't pretty, particularly as I look at the Swiss Army watch on my wrist currently. Aaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!

You should get a cheap Rolex homage to keep you through the long wait.

It's driving me nuts, particularly since I thought I'd get a better result initially from RUSA. In the interim, I just got a book on Vintage Rolex Sports Models, so I'll just have to look at the pretty pictures for now. Ugh!

Did you time this 15 second loss (per day) in the second week, after a full manual wind??

If the 15 seconds bothers you so much, why not have a local watchsmith regulate it for a few bucks?

Because I had just spent $600 for an overhaul at RUSA. They were supposed to regulate it properly the first time, so I sent it back to them to do the job they were paid to do.

Huh! I missed that part of your post. In that case, I feel bad for you. I just spent $75 on my Tag Link from the 90s at a local watchsmith, and it's been very accurate ever since.
