My AD

There has been some confusion from members here that I own or have some affiliation to an AD here in Oregon.

I do not. I niether own (unfortunately) or work for an AD. I get nothing out of referring you guys to them, except continued good will and discounts for myself.

I have bought 5 Rolex from them (always discounted) and have referred eight members here who have also purchased Rolex from them at a discount. The most recent being Downing who bought a Seadweller.

Again I have no finacial affiliation with this AD and I do not have a webpage for you to browse. This AD is just good quality people who dont BS and who offer discounts, great after sales service and no sales tax here in Oregon. They also have a pretty full bar and will pour you a drink as you browse. (bonus)

They have agreed to give members here a discount, but have made me promise that I will not openly name them on this forum/internet. They wish that I only name them and give out contact info to serious buyers who have been screened or gone through me. (via PM)

They don't want any heat from Rolex or to be bombarded by people cold calling them or walking in demanding discounts because they heard about it on the internet.

So there you have it. Just a clarification for anybody who cares.

I just have never heard of a jewelry store with a liquor license.

Wait, if they give drinks for "free" then maybe they don't need a license? I dunno. I wonder if there are any certain legalities involved? Not that I care -- just give me a bloody drink and let me slap some gold on my wrist.

Hahahaha! So true. I have bought my last two Rolex from them after my second Glenfiddich! They do not need a liquor license as they do not charge for them.

Though I guess the bucks I just paid for my Explorer II could be considered payment...

Was seriously looking for a serti dial TT sub with a champ dial if you could let me know if its running around looking for a new home.

A very good post.I think its already pretty nice of you to steer members to a good deal in the States.Then,even accompany them there.I think the purchaser can do the trouble to fly to this AD and get a good deal.The AD should also be suppoted for the fact that he gives a discount.The ADs that BS about dicounting should NOT be supported.Common sense must also prevail.Something like a new ss GMT cannot be expected,to be given a large discount on.The fixed supply is lower than the demand.Simple.One must know what to buy,where and when.Thats the grail.

Same with me on this side of the planet.If any member visits my country,I will be too pleased to steer them in the direction of the best deals.This is not for myself.I get a great discount,on most and know thats the max.Its more to the benefit of the AD and you as a purchaser.Its a win,win situation for everybody.Also,I would be careful to mention the name of the AD.The danger of somebody saying something silly like "Yes,but so and so gets this and that discount from so and so ....." This can only lead to an uneasy situation for those that are best intended.Its a free market.Anything is worth what the seller and the purchaser agrees upon.Anything else is price fixing.

I'll check for you today. Remember though, they will not ship phone orders. They will ship if you are there in person, but what good would that do as there already is no sales tax. Rolex rules.

The only reason I started this thread is because I have recieved PMs from members who think I work/own an AD or have a website. I don't to all three.

On the records, I did take your words from your previous posts that you only do the referring.

At this forum, I also recommended couple members to contact you for the prices. I may not be specific on my post. What I meant was that they can PM you and ask you to check out the prices for them.

On one post, I also recommended one member to mail you a Starbucks' gift certificate for your assistance if needed.

Anyway, I sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding on my part if there is.

No lies--remember, they told me that they'd heard nothing about this rumored October price increase and opined that if there is to be one it would be more likely in February. And significantly, they told me this before they knew I was going to buy my SD that same visit. In other words, when they had the opportunity to give me a high pressure sales pitch they instead gave me an honest opinion.

No bluffing--when I ask a question to which they don't know the answer, they tell me so, then get on the phone to their watchmaker. I've asked lots of questions, and this has happened only twice. They know their stuff.

No holding the paperwork for 30 days, so you don't have to worry that your "new" watch was actually worn by someone else who showered with it for a week, then had buyer's remorse. A new watch is truly a new watch, and you walk out with the papers in hand, signed by them.

All this plus a discount, no sales tax and the peace of mind of knowing without any doubt that you are getting what you pay for.

Have you looked at the champagne and slate dials in person, side by side? To my eyes, the slate looks so much better unless you are getting a solid gold watch. For some reason, the champagne dial on the TT sub just doesn't look right.
