Submariner - Real?

Hello,

I am a new member and not a Rolex expert, yet! When clearing out the house of a family member ( died unfortunatley) we found this Rolex Submariner. I have no idea how old this model is or wether it is even real.
I would appreciate it if you could give me some information/your opinion on the watch! Thank you very much

I'm impressed with the lume, it's amazing what you can do with a Q-Tip and whiteout. Very nice!

It could be a Sub with a helium escape valve produced in error by the most detail consious watch company in the world. Or on the other hand a pile of poo from china. My vote goes for

with out a doubt. no rolex has writing on the case back unless it is the deep sea or sea dweller.
