Champagne Dial Discoloration
I purchased this P-serial Datejust with factory diamond champagne dial last month, and upon arrival, I immediately noticed that there is a slight discoloration on the dial around the markers at the 4, 5, & 6 O'clock positions, with the 5 O'clock being the most noticeable. Although somewhat difficult to capture with a camera, the darker color around the markers can be seen with the naked eye. Inspection with an 8X loupe reveals what looks like a 1 mm white colored ring (water spot?) under the 5 O'clock marker. I'm starting to think that the watch has suffered minor moisture intrusion, and I have found the artifacts.

I have seen this a number of times on these dials. I think there is some reactivity with something they used on the diamond settings because it only seems to happen on diamond dials around the settings.

Thanks Assquatch, I was hoping it was something like that. It's a interesting phenomenon, even more so because it only effects 3 of the 10 mountings. I guess this is just "patina" for the champagne dial with 10 brilliants.
