My New Daytona - In light of the Bashers!

WOW - I was so brave to choose a Daytona after reading all the
Daytona bashing...
The Daytona stimulates alot of passionate debate, criticism and praise. GMT's and Subs (own both and really like both) don't receive a fraction of the criticism the Daytona receives ie:
  • get a Speedy instead and save $7k - I owned a Speedy and really liked it but the Daytona oozes wrist presence
  • hard to tell the time - how many times per day do you look at your watch not to tell the time? Buy a beautiful maxi dial sub if you require dial legibility - this is not a problem for me - now I may not wear the watch on a search and rescue mission - or 300 feet under the sea - but I see it just fine in the office, car or plane
  • the polished links will scratch - yep and this bracelet is the nicest Rolex bracelet I have ever had on my wrist - by far
  • It's not big enough - it feels, sits and looks perfect to me (I am old school)
  • $10k+ and no date??? my eyes don't see dates well, I have never been able to find the date on my meters first 5513

So the above is said mostly for fun and to stimulate the debate.
I may not die with this watch - but I sure da hell am enjoying it

I dunno what you're talkin' about. I think that the Daytona is a very well received and desired watch. I think that there are much more polarizing watches in the Rolex line up. It's a very nice watch. Congrats!

The crowd is right ... get rid of that Daytona! Send it to me and I'll deal with it, thereby relieving you of all the headaches that come with owing one. ;)

Congrats. I'm pondering a white dial Daytona myself. Waiting to see what Basel has in store.

I think the Daytona is beautiful. I tried on the WG version at my AD a couple weeks ago and it was incredible.
