Hello all, I'm new to the forum!
I've been a TAG Heuer fan for over 15 years, I'm looking to purchase my first Rolex soon. I'm interested in the 50th green bezel Submariner. What I'm worried about are the individual sellers who take a black dial sub and replace the bezel with a green one and market it as a 50th. Any suggestions are appreciated. Tips/advice on what to look for, where to buy, years to stay away from ect. Speaking of year models, how are the newer ceramic bezels holding up?
I am open to Subs for sale. Would prefer to purchase local to me (Houston) area, and meet at a dealer/jeweler for authenticity support.

The Green bezel Sub from 2003-2011 has a 'maxi dial' the hour markers are larger than The regular black sub. That is the most obvious give away to the naked eye.
The new Ceramic green submariners ( green dial too) and the Black one also now both have maxi dials.
Search here and scrutinise pics of each and you will see the differences

Thank you very much for your reply. I'n now torn between the Green Bezel Sub and the 5513 (no date) Sub. Is the no date going to be discontinued? I've read it'll be phased out soon and it will be a collectible down the road.

If you live to 100, the 14060 will not get to the same rarity of lower production vintage Subs. There are millions of modern 14060's out there.

No matter what you choose - buy the seller first. Look at some of the trusted TRF sellers here. Then you don't need to worry about dial swaps, etc.

Make sure the documentation matches what you're buying - papers help verify the SN# and dial combo is original.

Any advice or opinions over Tudor? I've read up on the history of Tudor, seems early models were Rolex based/interchangeable.....but later models are not. Still carry the Rolex design and image, but ETA movement is different vs in house movement.
Seen some nice Tudors, and early models with nice Patina
