AD in Canada....

So for those of you in Canada, what AD do you prefer? Or recommend? In terms of price and customer satisfaction. I'm beginning to expand my watch collection, and am shopping around for a decent price for a Daytona specifically, but my mind is definitely not closed off to the Daytona.

Im in edmonton, alberta and currently, the only two dealers are Swedish Jewllers and Gemoros. Ive been customers of both, but just want some mre info on your guys experience with other ADs around canada.

So whats your guys's input?

Cheers

Ashley Jewellers here in Hamilton currently have both the white and black dial SS Daytonas in stock, at 15% of MRSP. Several TRF members have dealt with Carol there.

MSRP = $11,520
less 15% = $9,792
Here's the part that hurts. Ontario has 13% HST so its $11,064.96 out the door. Your choice, black or white dial, they're both in stock.

Here's a thread about them from a week or so ago:

Oh dang. Yea. Those taxes are quite brutal. Wonder if I'll be able to get that 15 here in Alberta. When I get a chance to hop over to my AD, I'll keep you posted.

Kitchener Waterloo AD

I just got a Datejust from Raffi Jewelers here in Kitchener Waterloo. Its a Rolex boutique store, not sure what exactly that means, but there was loads of selection and I got almost 22% off the sticker price.

If you purchase the watch in Ontarcio and it is shipped to Alberta, all you pay is 5% GST. All it takes is a credit card number and most AD's will Fedex the watch to you with delivery within 48 hours.

Check out Vair Anderson in Calgary. Very nice people, outstanding and knowledgeable service. I also like their showroom.

Knarr Jewellers in Oakville is much better and flexible than any of the 4 Toronto AD's - deal with the owner for best service? DC Ttaylor in Collingwood is also very good

Joseph Anthony in Windsor has a massive selection and they treated me well. Great discount, family owned, usually you will be helped by the owner or one of his sons, and they know their Rolex.

I got 24% off retail for a Sub-C LN.

Overgaard jewelers in Kitchener has always treated me well ! When dealing with Rolex, the owner always assists in the purchase and is great with the discounts !

In Montreal, two different taxes are applied to products. The federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) is 6%, while the Quebec Sales Tax (QST) is set at 8.5% and applies to the selling price INCLUDING THE GST. Paying taxes on a tax is pure genius. $$$$$

I find that Knarr Jewellers in Oakville has rude service. Ashley jewellers in Hamilton has friendly and good customer service. They have offered up to 20 percent when I've dealt with them.

I've heard good things about Châeaux d'Ivoire in Montreal but unfortunately never been there. The only AD I tried in here was Bijouterie Italienne and the lady who served me was very kind and offered to explain me a couple of things about Rolex watches in general even if I didn't buy and despite my young age. I've had a good time over there!

Chateau D'Ivoire in Montreal is great. Royale De Versailles in Toronto is great as well. Matt Baily Jewelers (Pre-Owned) is fantastic in Montreal. WatchFinder in Toronto (Some new & pre-owned) is fantastic too!

You should listen to Adam, he knows every single employee in both Ontario's and Quebec's AD's!

Touch of gold in Halifax was good. Gives me 20% discount. Chateau D'Ivoire in Montreal not so good. 10 or so sales people hovered around while I was only person besides a couple in the store and when they did get around to servicing me after I asked the first thing I was told was "NO Discounts" outright????? I hardly said hello and got that from a sales rep. Very bad service.

There are no Tudor AD's in North America if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps someone can correct me, though.

There are Tudor AD's in Canada, a fellow around here bought one in Toronto if memory serves. I must say I've never seen one in Montreal though but perhaps this is only because I didn't look closely.

Hey Carl, I don't think there are any Tudor AD's, just Rolex AD's who can order the Tudor, that is if memory serves me ! I may be wrong but that is what I was told ?

Well you may be right Tony! It is a possibility I didn't think of. This whole Tudor AD thing is getting complicated!

There are indeed Tudor ADs in Canada, Rolex ADs carry them as a second line. At least my AD does and has a nice Tudor display. For the record, it was I who bought the Heritage from that display case and shipped it down to Sam in New York last month. They also currently have the Advisor that Chuck (Tunacan26) is drooling over, sitting in that same Tudor display case.

Btw, that's where I get all the Tudor catalogues that I periodically mail out to our US members.

I bought both my Rolex's and a Tag from Karen at Touch of Gold and I get treated very well also. I've also dealt with Don and and he is very knowledgeable and a great watch guy !
I'm presently waiting for a price from them on a Tudor Heritage Chrono. I think I can get a 30% discount on it from Ashleys so it will be interesting to see if they will match it.
If their price is in the ballpark I will buy it from TOG if not I'll be calling Carol at Ashleys.
There has been times over the years that I could have saved a few bucks by going out of province but I always end up buying it here because of the excellent service and nice people.

Regards,Dave
