super jubilee interchangability

Ive read the super jubilee will not fit on the old style datejust because the case is different. Im curious if anyone had used the old endlinks and pins on the new bracelet with success, ascetically.

You won't be able to fit any kind of end links on a 63200/63600 super jubilee, unless of course you chisel off the SEL with a hammer and weld on the loose end links

ok well what i do not understand is how the old and super jubilees will fit a GMT but they are not interchangable w dj.... it doesnt make sense.

and i dont know if you have ever handled a SEL.. but you dont need to chisel them off, bud. when you remove the bars the link it seperate from the bracelet. anyone with actually experience please

I know of one possible explanation for this.

I know lug holes are not always located in the same exact place. The YG Daytona and the YG Daytona that comes on a strap are a perfect example. The lug holes on these two watches are located in different positions. The bracelet for the YG Daytona that comes on a bracelet won't fit the YG Daytona that comes on a strap from the factory.

63200 super jubilee has solid end links so you can't stick on your own like you can with the older style bracelets. not going to work

that's the point of SEL... not being able to remove it. of course it can be removed but that's certainly not the intention as that's not how it's been designed

Maybe we don't always have the experience. A lot of us come here to learn, share the knowledge we have, and share or passion for watches. No one gets paid here and sometimes the info you find here won't be perfect. But then again some of the info we have isn't always perfect. But then again your trying to do something Rolex didn't actually intend to do in the first place.

I thought you were the one stating that the new super jubilee wouldn't work on the older DJ?

Puffy was just trying to explain the endlinks on the new Super Jubilee couldn't be modified.

I was trying to tell you why it might not work.

i've put a super jubilee on datejusts 6605, 16014 and 16203 it doesn't work due to the positioning of the lug holes.

Nope, a misunderstanding. I have only read this. But i dont believe much of what i read on internet forums because people love to blindly regurgitate information; for whatever their reason may be.

Its good to know it will not work.
