FRM Basel to AD, how long? SkyDweler specific
Hi everyone, with all the talk about the new Sky Dweller ( I guess SD since the other is SDDS now) I'm getting very interested on the model.
1) What is the typical time lapse from release to availability at store? 2)Like some other luxury items, is there a list or is it 1st come 1st serve except for the lucky ones with a good relation with th AD? 3)Any clue on the price? Say for a steel version, nothing fancy. 4)How does Rolex -typically- release? all models together or lower end 1st or other waly around high model first? For example: Porsche always releases the S version first then the Turbo and finally the base model. I don't want to sound dumb and show up to ask about a watch that may or may not exist or try to sign up for it without even knowing if I can afford it. Thanks in advance

Six months is rather optimistic, if you don't live in a thriving metropolis.
Those of us in the backwaters of rural America are likely to wait longer.

I'll bet the first versions we see are in 18K gold--white and yellow. This is the standard protocol (just as it was with the GMT-IIC and Submariner-Cs), followed by 2-tone next year, and steel a year after that. So, you've got plennnnnnty of time to get ready for that steel Sky Dweller in 2015! ;)

My AD in South OZ received his first Milgauss GV 9 months after Basel and he ordered it there on the day. I bought the second one he received 18/3/08.

I was about to order that 116610LN Sub- C date until I saw this new 2012 11460 ceramic no-date sub.. Yepey...
I like my watch without the date, less complication, no more need of unscrewing the crown to change dates, IMO less likely to get damaged or prone to water failure. But that's just me. I think I have to wait for this no date sub c. :( Cleaner look too without the cyclops! |
