[Watch ME!]

Ok, so I'm coming up on 2 weeks with my new Sub-C and from what I've read I think I'm nearing the time for its first bath.

Now, we have city water where we live, but when I say that it's bad, that's sort of an understatement. Dishes in the dishwasher come out terribly spotted, the faucets get calcium and lime rust often and have to be cleaned.

WE DON'T DRINK THIS WATER!!

So, should I use distilled water to rinse and clean my Subby up? [And I know this will probably be posted... YES, I know the sub is a tool watch and can handle a lot - but mine will be babied for some time!]

Any suggestions, much appreciated.

Do you use special water to have shower/bath? If not, I wouldn't bother....

Don't be concerned about the water just use shampoo or body wash (not bar soap) and you won't have any mineral deposits on your watch when you dry it down.

I used to live in Los Angeles & had a Culligan set-up outside that took the funk out of the water that came into the house, worked well.

Yes, we do shower with the water. It does tend to make our skin very dried out though. And yes, I can't wait to get a Culligan filter system for the whole house.

This seems to be an issue throughout Michigan. The water in Lansing also makes my skin super dry, I used to think it was just me

This question is sort of the same type of question we will be getting for the sky-dweller soon. Can I wear the sky-dweller on a plane. The air is recirculated so will the recirculated air damage the watch? No offense to the original poster. Just having a little fun.

By the way my brother-in-law got married in Grand Rapids and I did notice the water made my skin dry as well.

Yes, there seems to be something about the water that comes from the Grand River!! It is also smells extremely sulfery too.

Hot tap water, bath soap or shampoo, soft nail brush or toothbrush; it's kept my watches looking great for years. Sometimes I choose which watch to wear by which needs cleaned in the shower...

I see a potential good business pioneer here. I'm going to start a watch spa saloon. Where your watches can have the best spa service from sleeping on soft expensive pillows, to being cradled and rocked like a baby on an Orbita winder while a mellow background music is being played for your watch to enjoy.

A little massage here and there to your watch, plus a lil spray of expensive fragrance so your watch would smell good, a lil sun-tan on the UV lamp for your watches' lume.

Yeah, a watch spa clinic.

Certainly not a dumb question by any means, but remember it is a watch. If the water you use is good enough to bathe in, it is good enough to clean your watch.

Hahaha, yes. I smell it quite often when I head out to the lake shore to see clients in Spring Lake and Grand Haven.

Oh yea, or where you could drive over them and it sounds like driving over bubble wrap. No Fish Flies in Southern California! Looks like I hijacked this thread. I use rubbing alcohol after washing my GMT with water.

Just buy a good water purifier, I'd imagine---you can use that to bathe your Rolex (and get some drinking water in the process).

I live in South Australia. We import out Rolex cleaning spring-water from New Zealand.
Seems to work.
