Hello from NYC
Hi all,
I've been lurking on your forum for just a little bit now and have thoroughly enjoyed the pictures and knowledge shared (as well as a few good natured jokes!). I currently have a ~1997 SS Datejust received from my parents as a college graduation present (each of my brothers also received a similar watch upon their graduation from college -- we may look a bit odd when we walk around together, but to us it feels like a secret decoder ring or secret handshake that we share). I've also recently purchased a 1960's Tudor Submariner, but that is off being overhauled at the moment. I think my next purchase will be a Pepsi GMT II if I can find one that I can afford (and figure out how to avoid fakes - yes I know, AD). Other than that, my only other claim to Rolex fame is the ability to stare for hours at the local AD's windows without blinking. The wife hasn't seen the light yet and wears a Reimond Weil, but it makes her happy, so I won't complain. Anyway, I look forward to learning more from the you all! Best, Rich |

Welcome to TRF Rich If you're looking for a pepsi GMT, good luck. Rolex has stopped production of them.

Welcome to TRF, Rich!
The "Pepsi" is a true classic! I hope you find one! Try asking for a 10 % discount (CASH). If you get that, you are one lucky fellow!

Thank you very much for the welcome guys!
I hadn't realized how much history the GMT had until I started reading here, so it has made the search that much more fervent! I'm sure I can ultimately lure my wife over with some shiny things like Tool showed! Best, Rich |

Welcome to TRF, Rich.
A really cool photo to post would be you and your brothers wearing your "secret decoder rings."

Welcome! I have one for sale. Would look great on your wife. Check the for sale forum or PM me if interested. Its the men's, but I've met some ladies who will only wear a men's version. They like the way it looks as opposssed to the smaller ladie's version. |

Welcome Rich! albeit a little belated. I havent been on here that long either, but it's a great source of info and pretty funny personalities. I'm from the NYC area too and I've been to 5 local AD's. And i've only been happy with one. If you're interested, let me know - I can refer you. I'm not sure if we're allowed to post names of dealers here.
