Do you have a 78200 to compare with?
I did compare it with this thread: http://rolexforums.com/showthread.ph...ighlight=78200 Now I'm not sure and it's making me feel awful. |

rolex 78200 band
First of all I listed this band that I purchased a year ago myself off ebay and carried to my local rolex dealer to verify if it was real and was assured that it was. This would have never been listed if I knew it was a fake and I would have fought this through paypal myself I do own a gmt 16750 that i have owned since 1987,and liked the band but it was for a gmt master iic and was told that it fit other applications and on my listing put this information to have checked by a local ad, this 78200did not fit my gmt and the end pieces swiveled out of place, so i decided to sell and buy an oyster band to replace. I did not try to mislead the buyer in this transaction who will be credited for this item. This was a costly transaction on my part and a learning experience that you can't always get the correct information from all rolex ad.I bought my wife a new watch from this dealer for our 10 th anniversary. I will be getting a second opionions in the future if I buy anything second hand in the future. Just wanted to set the record straight. Best regards hawghunter69.

Update
Yes the seller made the refund and he was a gentelman through the whole situation and I believe he had the band all this time thinking it was real I feel that he was scammed through Ebay when he bought it last year.

That's good news, and I actually do feel bad for the seller. Seems as though he was scammed as well... Bummer

There are good sellers who do get duped. Something like this recently happened to me with a coin I bought on Ebay that turned out to be counterfeit. I feared there would be major headaches contacting him and dealing with the matter, but the seller turned out to be one of the most honest people I've ever met who just happened to get fooled himself with a few coins not long before he decided to resell them. He reversed the sale and several others before sending anything out, and he was so grateful that I alerted him to it, and he's now extremely careful in both buying and selling.
I'm glad it worked out for you, and hope it works out for hawghunter69 as well. |

78200 band
Fellows I found out today that I did get duped and now am a proud owner of a well built folex, I did however find a new rolex ad who took the time to examine the band, I left with them today because their 13 year inhouse repairman was at lunch. My question to them was that it was an op8 approximately 5 to 6 years old could this had been a 1st generation and some changes could have been made. The repairman pulled his manuals out to compare the end links and the ends on mine had a bronze like color and the real one had a much clearer cut which was the tale tale of this experience. I am relieved to know at least of what I do have and will from now on not buy off ebay. The old saying is pay now or pay later. In my case I'm doing both, but the good thing is I did learn a good lesson and appreiciate all the feedback from you guys, thanks hanybad for your patience through this transaction and glad you did not experience this a year down the road.
