Rolex Daytona feels small?
So I got a great deal on my new Daytona and I must say it feels so petite compared to my GMT II C and my Sub C. I'm not saying it is a bad thing as it is a beautiful watch, it just feels small. Anyone else feel the same?

I just figured it would be similar to my other Rolex sports models and it is definitely a smaller feel. It is a very comfortable watch but just doesn't have (accuse the expression) the balls of my GMT II C or Sub C. I feel I should wear it with a suit and not casually.

On an 8+" wrist I could understand - anything between 36mm and 40mm will begin to look small beside the bigger cases/faces/bezels.

It is a 40mm piece that wears on the small side, partly because the Cal 4130 lacks the date function which results in a thinner movement that other chronos, thus the case of the Daytona is rather thin, at least compared to a Sub or GMT. But again, I think the Daytona is a very attractive and classic size. I wish Rolex cleaned up the dial and took away the PLC's and I' be back wearing one in a heartbeat.

I guess I am not saying it is small, it just feels small compared to the other Rolex models I have been wearing. My wrist is around 7.25.

Yeah, it definitely takes some getting used to. Some people love it, others don't. Nothing to worry about, enjoy wearing it for a while, it it doesn't work out there is always the FS section! :-)

Yes it wears a bit small compared to its other sporty siblings as it is a bit slim and the illusion resulting because of its bezel.

Yea, it is definitely an illusion of sorts. I was expecting it to wear bigger for some reason. Still find myself looking down at it constantly, so it has appeal.

When they enlarge the Daytona and throw on a date and the skydweller calendar feature, I'll be throwing money at the screen

If you've been wearing thicker and larger watches it would take a bit of getting used to. But I find that the proportions are perfect.

PS - I think a YG Daytona and/or black dial and/or bezel wears bigger than straight SS or WG. The higher contrast colors fill it out better. |

IMHO, the Daytona is the perfect size! This is coming from someone who owns a few large watches... The balance of the Daytona on the wrist is better than GMT, Sub, and all other sport Rolex... again IMO.

Less is more... I find the Daytona the only sport model Rolex that looks good with formal/semi formal clothing... The GMT Sub & Expl, look more rugged casual to me...

I would agree it does wear smaller than anything with the new "maxi" case. That being said though I would rate it very similar to the prior generation of subs/gmts... Love my Daytona. In gold it really feels amazing with the weight and the size

Today I'm wearing a 36mm Datejust. Two days ago I was wearing a 45mm Panerai. Sorry to use an old cliché but does size really matter? If you love the watch, wear it and enjoy it for what it is. Just my 2-cents. Cheers and congrats on the Daytona!
